Building for People Who Need Food Assistance

Neighbor to Neighbor is an independent 501c3 non-profit organization that seeks to improve the lives of financially challenged residents throughout the Greenwich area.

Even as the pandemic eases, there is still an unprecedented increase in need for access to nutritious food. Hunger and food insecurity affect many more people in Greenwich than most of us realize: 20%+ of residents lack the income needed to cover basic necessities, and 28% of Greenwich Public School students qualify for free or subsidized lunches. Experiencing food insecurity at a young age can have lasting effects on children’s development, health and well-being, especially if families have to choose between food and medical care.

Everyone in Greenwich can help us fill the shelves (or buy new shelves!) in the new building

As we prepare to open the new pantry in the fall of 2021, we would like to invite the community to help fill the shelves and furnish the space. Please join us in whatever way you can, to Fill the Build” and contribute towards fresh or shelf-stable food, chairs, shelves or tables.
