Hunger Action Month is a time for all of us to come together to raise awareness and to inspire action to end hunger. It was started by Feeding America’s network of food banks in 2007 and is marked each year in the month of September, with Hunger Action Day falling on September 29th, 2026.
Here in Greenwich, the need is real. Rising food and gas prices, plus cuts to SNAP eligibility, have pushed our client numbers up 13% over last year. And more than 11,000 Fairfield County families are at risk of losing some or all of their SNAP benefits, which will have a ripple effect on food pantries in our area.
