Volunteer

Volunteer With Us

Be part of something special – volunteer in our Food Pantry, located at The Cohen Center for Neighbor to Neighbor, 248 East Putnam Avenue, Greenwich, CT. Our dedicated and enthusiastic team of volunteers is the driving force behind all we do. Volunteers pack hundreds of grocery bags, stock shelves, and participate in food drive pick-ups. A volunteer may to commit to a regular shift or serve as an occasional “substitute.”

If you are interested in volunteering, please complete and submit the appropriate forms as detailed below.

Student Volunteers

Student volunteer hours are Wednesdays & Thursdays 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm and Saturdays 8:30 am – 12:30 pm.

Students must be 14 years or older to participate in these shifts which take place without a chaperone, under staff supervision.

Students 13 and younger may still apply and will be notified of opportunities to participate with a chaperone, such as our Family Open House Days.

Please complete the Student Volunteer Application and submit the form via email to the Youth Volunteer Coordinator Sonya at skeshwani@ntngreenwich.org. Once received, we will follow up with information about orientation and scheduling your shifts.

Adult Volunteers

Adult volunteers should complete the Volunteer Application and Volunteer Consent Form and submit them via email to Elvis at eruiz@ntngreenwich.org.

Adult volunteer hours are 8:00 am – 10:15 am and 10:15 am – 12:30 pm. These hours apply to ages 18 and older volunteers only. 

Once reviewed, we will reach back out to you with details to schedule your orientation and sign up for volunteer slots.

Corporate and Community Groups

Certain days can be reserved for corporate and community group volunteers. Volunteer shifts are from 8:00 a.m – 12:30 p.m except for holiday weekends when we are closed. No children are permitted at anytime. Please email us at info@ntngreenwich.org to schedule your community service day.

Garden Volunteers (Seasonal)

During Spring-Summer seasons, volunteers will be needed for the following community gardens: Parsonage Road NTN Garden, Bible Street, Armstrong Court, and Putnam Cottage.

Putnam Cottage: Volunteer days will be Mondays from 9:45 am – 10:30 am. Garden responsibilities will include weeding, harvesting, staking, pruning plants, etc. At the end of each shift, fresh produce will be bagged and dropped of to NtN. Volunteers are advised to bring their own water bottles and garden gloves.
